A peaceful hillside residence in Texas
The Westlake Drive house is located on a beautiful golf course in Austin Texas, designed by James D. LaRue Architects. This sleek and contemporary residence is set deep into the hillside, blending seamlessly into its environment. According to the architects, the overall design of this 4,722 square foot home consists of three separate building structures, each housing different functions but all flawlessly connected by bridges, breezeways and ‘streets’. A cantilevered steel entry bridge hovers over an impressive, cave stone covered
retaining wall creating a sunken garden below with a cool continuous breeze. An abundance of windows, a glass enclosed bridge to the Master Suite and a glass lined stairwell allow for golf course views from nearly every room while erasing the separation of indoors and outdoors. Stone walls that continue from the exterior to interior, lend in drawing nature inside. Complete with a pool, outdoor kitchen, fireplaces and several seating areas, the outdoor living space blends naturally with the surrounding environment creating a modern but warm appearance. Despite the challenging terrain, this sophisticated, Texas contemporary home merges with ease into the hillside presenting a sophisticated look to the passing golfers while enjoying a coveted view of the golf course.

modern architecture : Apartment In Katayama
This apartment building designed by Mitsutomo Matsunami looks stunning! The fact that the houses next doors only have 2 floors, makes this 7 story high building even more majestic. It’s build on a 110.55m² piece of land and has a total floor of 341.38m². There are 10 apartments in the building, measuring between 23.2m² and 35.7m², which is tiny compared to European ones.

vintage furniture : Bright ethnic textiles pieced together on mid-century modern frames
BOKJA DESIGN: You leave me breatheless. I first saw your gorgeous upholstered furniture while doing a Google image search about six months ago. I saved many of the images and decided I had to come out of hiding and blog about the pieces. Then, well, you know what happens. You get swept off in another direction
and altogether forget what it is that swept you off your feet. I do keep inspiration boards and have Bokja’s images ready for the next board, but the next board is empty next to a pile of pictures that want to call the oard “home”.Today, while searching for an image for my website, I caught a glimpse of the images I had saved and decided that I had to share your existence with all of the my followers (0) and everyone else who stumbles upon my infrequent postings. I’m not so sure I need to share your entire story and evolution because you have a great website and it tells us all. It is www.bokjadesign.com . The two Beirut-based founders chose the name Bokja, as they explain on their website, because bokja is an expression of respect and love for an age-old culture and aesthetic with a human approach. Emphasis is on color, craftmanship and sustainable use of the materials that are available to them to express an artistic idea with

Amazing architecture Stoneage Style House in Portugal
This is a stoneage house that has amazing architecture and design exterior.Placed in a peaceful pastoral setting in Nas Montanhas de Fafe, Portugal. This hillside house boasts unobstructed, untarnished views of the grass-covered mountain and valley. This unusual structure isn’t your typical house, featuring an irregular
exterior, but some traditional “house” elements were incorporated – namely, its charming windows and a shingled roof that stands out among these seemingly untouched, natural surroundings.
